SMART ALERT – Increase in “Kick and Run” Incidents

We are seeing a recent increase in “kick and run” behaviour across the area. This involves individuals knocking or kicking doors and running away. While some may see this as a prank, it can cause damage, alarm residents, and lead to unnecessary distress.

Please be aware:

Children aged 10 and over can be held criminally responsible for their actions.

The age of criminal responsibility in the UK is 10, meaning police action can be taken where necessary.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak with young people about the impact of this behaviour.

If you witness incidents or experience damage:

✅ Report non‑urgent incidents via 101
✅ Call 999 in an emergency or if a crime is in progress
